The year that was
As we close the door on this unprecedented year, Ding founder and Chief Executive Mark Roden, looks back on the challenges and the impact the pandemic has had on communities all over the world.
Despite the terrible and tragic impact of Covid-19 on all our lives, it is also a year when many of the positive aspects of technology shone through. It was technology that helped to keep families connected when they could no longer be in the same space.
It was also a year when technology enabled millions of people around the world to function during lockdowns and stay close to loved ones – albeit virtually.
Previous pandemics, such as the 1918 Spanish Flu changed the course of history and society. Only time will tell if Covid-19 propels us to a life lived nearly online.
New year, new outlook
As we approach 2021, we look with optimism that the promise of vaccination programmes can move us towards opening up once again.
We will head into next year with the aim of continuing to help our customers to gain access and connect to the world around them. To be there for them at their digital point of need.
We are also looking forward to unveiling a new look for our Ding brand which puts our customer at its centre of everything we do and is something we are very proud of.
I want to thank all our partners who have worked with us this year and welcome all our new partners who joined our growing global network, and to thank all the customers who have chosen Ding in greater numbers than any other year in our 14-year history.
Wishing you all the best for the holiday season, and a happy New Year.
