A date for the diary…..
The 2019 conference calendar rolls on with a number of key dates on the horizon.
In August, the annual All Wireless & Prepaid Expo will once again arrive at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The event runs from 20-21 August and is a mainstay of the prepaid market. Ding will be there at booth 206 so be sure to drop by to say hello to the team.
September sees the return of Asian Carriers Conference 2019, in Cebu. Described as the premiere conference in Asia, it is always a must attend for those in the telecoms space. This week long event kicks off on September 2nd and this year marks its 15th anniversary and is expected to be bigger than ever.
Next up for Money2020 will be Money2020 USA, which will run in October from 27-30th in Las Vegas. Followed by Money2020 China, which takes place in Hangzhou in December 4-6th.
InvestHK week will take place in November and will consist of three days in HK and one day in Shenzhen. This year the organisers have announced significant expansion to the annual event, moving to a bigger venue to accommodate a greater variety of programmes, business events, exhibitors and attendees, after the success of the 2018 edition.
Websummit takes place in November 4-7th, once again in Lisbon. For 2019, MoneyConf has been rolled back into the Websummit event. Ding will be there with CEO Mark Roden, taking to the MoneyConf stage to talk about the key themes of the day. Self-styled as the best technology conference on the planet and a must attend – it rarely disappoints.
Also in November, is Slush Helsinki, which is a self-described as the world’s leading startup event. Organisers are expecting 25,000 attendees, including 4,000 startups and 2,000 investors.
In Africa, AfricaCom also gets underway 12-14th of November between in Cape Town, South Africa. This is Africa’s largest and most influential tech and telecoms event and promises to be another stimulating event as Africa continues its digital renaissance. This event is sure to attract the attention of industry participants from around the world with 15,000 attendees expected over the three days.
Elsewhere, IMTC World takes place in Miami on 12-15th November. This event gathers 500+ participants from across the payments industry – with this year a new wave of attendees arriving from the world of Fintech, as well as the Blockchain & Crypto sectors, start-ups, VCs and institutional investors.
